A british punk rock band that got it's start in 1976 became a part of the original british punk scene. Their music also infused elements of reggae, dub, ska, rap, dance, and funk. For most of the Clash's career, they consisted of vocalist Joe Strummer, guitarist Mick Jones, bassist Paul Simonon and drummer Nicky Headon. The Clash became popular with the release of their first album, The Clash, in 1977. London Calling, their 3rd album brought them fame in the US when it came out the following month later.
